Wind: Cuts and Compromise or Clear Direction?

This morning, the DECC announced the results of the latest alteration to UK renewable energy subsidies. The Government’s Renewable Obligation Certificate (ROC) banding review was due before parliament’s summer break; however a clear divide within the coalition meant that the final announcement was delayed until today.

News networks across the UK yesterday were picking up on Professor Richard Muller’s Berkley Earth Project, the results of which have led him, a man who once doubted the existence of climate change, to reverse his opinions and refer to himself as ‘a converted sceptic.’ This stands in poignant contrast to other parts of the world, which suffer from continuing and purposeful ignorance on the topic.

Tax Payers Alliance Misses the Point on Renewable Energy

A recent article by the Tax Payers Alliance claims a report by BIS, its ‘International Comparison of Energy and Climate Change Policies Impacting Energy Intensive Industries in Selected Countries,’ shows that DECC policies are killing British Industry by increasing energy costs.
